Dune offers both Luxe & Gloss jewelry designs. When I began experimenting with beach sand and sterling silver I formulated my own inlay process over a 3 year period of time.\u00a0 There were many learning curves, however eventually I finalized the process and officially began marketing Dune Jewelry.\u00a0 Our Luxe Jewelry encompasses \u00a0our Horizon, Marquise<\/a>, Dune Bar, Island, Men\u2019s Round Cuff links and our sterling silver key chain.\u00a0 The process creates a flat aesthetic with the sand and the silver. \u00a0The sand is nestled into the silver. Larger grains of sand and shell are broken open and revealed by the process.\u00a0 We\u2019ve even found baby starfish fossils in some of our pieces using this technique!\u00a0 This process is always surprising – you don\u2019t see the end result until the sand is set, sanded and polished, often resulting in a mosaic design or finish.<\/p>\n

Gloss Jewelry – What is it?<\/h2>\n

Our gloss method creates layers of sand and resin. We can pick out certain colors and textures with a toothpick to place them in beautiful arrangements.\u00a0 This is a wonderfully artistic process that creates more of a shiny, gem-like finish.\u00a0 One thing to note is that this process can make your sand look significantly darker if it is mostly quartz based like New Jersey or the West Coast of Florida.\u00a0 Some of our most popular gloss designs are the Sandglobe necklace<\/a>, ANYTHING Wave<\/a> and Bayview ring<\/a>.\u00a0 When you look closely at all of our photography you should see a distinct difference between the two methods.\u00a0 If you have any questions about what method is the best choice for you, please feel free to email sandstyling@dunejewelry.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n
