Have you discovered Dune Jewelry\u2019s Power Stone Collection yet?\u00a0<\/em>I\u2019ve enjoyed creating jewelry with sand for many years. It\u2019s a brilliant palette of color and texture that any artist would love to work with, but recently I wondered if we could incorporate some extra color into our collection. After quite a lot of research, I came up with our first 12 powerful stones with an opaque consistency that would work perfectly with our current jewelry making process.<\/p>\n

Here are four Power Stone elements to keep in mind when making your own custom creations:<\/em><\/p>\n

1. Lapis<\/h2>\n

\"Lapis<\/a>Lapis is a deep blue stone that evokes thoughts of ocean depths and crashing waves. It is said to be a stone of truth and power. Prized for its beauty and attributes since the time of ancient Egypt, powdered Lapis was said to be used by Cleopatra as eyeshadow, and pieces of Lapis were used to decorate the funeral mask of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. Try Dune Jewelry\u2019s Lapis in a sterling silver piece<\/a> for a cool, crisp look.<\/p>\n

2. Tiger Eye<\/h2>\n

Tiger Eye is a golden brown stone that is said to bring good luck and prosperity to the wearer. In some places, Tiger Eye is even said to be able to ward off evil and negative influences. This stone contains different shades of earth tones that look striking in any of Dune Jewelry\u2019s gold pieces.<\/p>\n

3. Peridot<\/h2>\n

Peridot is a light green stone that reminds us of fresh spring days and the beauty of nature. Peridot is one of few stones that are formed in the Earth\u2019s mantle and carried to the surface by molten rock. Peridot has also been found on meteorites. A stone of kindness and friendship, Peridot makes a statement in a rose gold piece.<\/p>\n

4. Pyrite<\/h2>\n

Pyrite (one of my absolute faves) is a black and gray stone that has metallic flashes of gold. One of the most sparkly of the Power Stones, Pyrite is a stone of confidence and vitality. Pyrite is also known as Fools Gold. Traditionally, Pyrite was used to make Marcasite Jewelry which was very popular in the Victorian era.
