But, as hard as it was, my dad is an adventurer at heart. As a result, when it came time to move to the next base, he would rally for places we might never get to go to on our own. So, this nerve stricken child was able to find peace and calm at many of the beautiful beaches the USA has to offer! The soothing sound of the water rolling up the sand to tickle my toes&#8230;the rhythmic calming of the current moving through the water&#8230;the brilliance of the sun shining over me&#8230; Through the years beaches have truly become my happy place, my sanctuary, my communal with God. Even now, as an adult, the anxiety remains. But every summer my family and I all meet up at the beach and I am able to reconnect with myself all over again! I had East Beach sand from Charlestown, Rhode Island placed in the wave design. We have been going to East Beach for over 35 years and it was the most appropriate way for me to celebrate all the great times we have had at that location. We have our own East Beach Tanning Club, with signs and t-shirts and have just a great time. I set up a whole display that includes flags, wind socks, funny Beach signs and solar toys. Children, as well as adults, actually look forward to seeing my setups. We visited shortly after she was born and enjoyed wonderful memories of the Homer Spit and other beautiful places. Since then Kallin has gone on to grow into a beautiful, talented student and now a Finlandia University hockey player. Imagine my delight when I found I could order a bracelet with a charm of Homer Spit sand. I presented it to her on her 18th. birthday. This is something so meaningful and I&#8217;m sure she will cherish it forever.
