Send them on their Journey with a Piece of Home<\/strong><\/p>\n

Can you believe how fast time goes by?\u00a0 It feels like yesterday I was making jewelry at my kitchen table while breastfeeding Alexa.\u00a0 Now, my two girls are walking into the forest with 16-year-old boys I\u2019ve never met who have nicknames like \u201cButter\u201d (short for Buttercup)!\u00a0 These strangers are actually responsible & adorable camp counselors and burgeoning lifeguards.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Alexa is 6 now and Lyla is on the cusp of being 5. Both girls are going to a super woodsy Summer camp at Hale Reservation in the deep woods of Massachusetts this Summer. They\u2019ve caught fish, learned how to swim in a lake instead of a pool and made tons of new friends, but it\u2019s truly crazy how quickly they grow up.<\/p>\n

Rocks, twigs, natural treasures from camp.<\/h2>\n

Last Thursday, Lyla and Alexa both came home (separately) with sand from the lake.\u00a0 One with a huge Tupperware container full and one with a pocket full. \u00a0You can guess which girl thought to bring the Tupperware and which one shoved it in her pocket. My initial reaction was \u201cWHAT IS THIS?!\u201d because both girls have a penchant for collecting rocks, twigs, moth wings (yep) and other random items from the forest.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I was in Mom mode and didn\u2019t even think of sand as my artistic medium as I was shaking it out of their hair, shoes, and undies.\u00a0 Both girls (while yelling at each other about who\u2019s sand was better) said, \u201cMOM!\u00a0 It\u2019s for our Camp Counselors for being so fun.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

A moment I\u2019ll never forget<\/h2>\n

You have to make them DUNE JEWELRY!\u201d\u00a0 My heart skipped a beat.\u00a0 It was one of those moments where the stress of being a working Mom melts away.\u00a0 Work, home, schedules, kids, husband, dinner prep, chaos\u2026none of that mattered and I just thought, \u201cOh my gosh, this thing that I do is so special and these little girls, my girls,<\/em><\/strong> want to share it with everyone they meet.\u00a0 Even though they\u2019re only babies – they get it!\u201d\u00a0 It was a moment I\u2019ll never forget.<\/p>\n

Remember this; time is fleeting, special moments are rare and precious. We need to capture every memory we possibly can and hold on to it and we need to share these moments with people who touch our lives.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Now it\u2019s time to figure out what kind of Dune Jewelry we\u2019re going to make for Butter.<\/p>\n
