Introducing our new Guest Blogger \u00a0Series featuring some of our favorite Dunies from the world of fashion, culture, travel and more. This week we introduced Alysha Duff from <\/b>Styled and Spiced<\/a> as she shares her sand story from her favorite memories from Myrtle Beach. <\/b><\/h2>\n

Born and raised in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the beach holds a very special place in my heart. While there are many people who live by the ocean but rarely visit, I spent my entire youth by the seashore every chance I got. The beach was where my mom took me as a child to play in the tide pools while she read a book under an umbrella. It\u2019s where I would eagerly anticipate whether my friend\u2019s red van would be in the parking lot that day, and hope she would be there to play in the sand with me.<\/span><\/p>\n

When I was in elementary school, the beach is where I picked up the hobby of boogie boarding, which evolved into surfing once I reached middle school. It\u2019s where my friends and I would be dropped off on the weekends until we were old enough to drive there on our own. We would soak up sun rays and swim in the ocean until dusk, when our parents came back to pick us up. The beach was the place we went when we had half days and \u201cSenior Skip Day\u201d in high school. It was the place we couldn\u2019t wait to come back to when we came home from college for the summers. We would hang out there every day, tanning for as long as possible before having to rinse off in the outdoor showers and jump into our work uniforms. <\/span><\/p>\n

The beach was my safe haven when I needed to clear my head; it was my \u201cgym\u201d when I wanted to go for a long run; and it was always my go-to date spot. \u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The beach is the base of my fondest memories growing up in Myrtle Beach. I consider myself very lucky to have grown up in a coastal town, surrounded by friends and family who valued going to the beach as much as I did. \u00a0Ever since I left home and went to college, I have been looking for a way to keep a piece of home with me wherever I go. I\u2019ve never been an advocate for tattoos, but I had even considered making an exception with a small white ink wave on my ankle to subtly remind me of who I am and where I came from. However, onc<\/span>e I discovered Dune Jewelry and learned that I could have a literal piece of Myrtle Beach, rather than a mere symbol, I found the solution I was looking for.<\/span><\/p>\n

I chose the Gold Rope Inlet Cuff<\/a> with sand from one of the Myrtle Beach sandbanks, and it elegantly displays on my wrist every day. It\u2019s perfect. So, thank you, Dune Jewelry, for capturing so many fond memories for me in this timeless piece of jewelry and allowing me to bring them with me on all of my adventures.<\/span><\/p>\n
