Nathan the Brave: A Family’s Fight Against Childhood Cancer

That morning, two-year-old Nathan had an ultrasound that revealed a substantial ruptured mass on his right kidney. He was immediately transported by ambulance to Boston Children’s Hospital for further evaluation.

After MRIs, CT scans, bloodwork, and repeat ultrasounds, doctors confirmed the unthinkable: Nathan had been diagnosed with Wilms Kidney Cancer.

Nathan’s Strength Through Every Step of Treatment

Since receiving his diagnosis, Nathan has endured more tests, surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation than any child should ever have to face. Despite these difficult procedures, Nathan remains a happy, vivacious little boy who is ready to fight.

Even with his determination, the reality of childhood cancer brings challenges no child and no family should have to face — and emotional strength is only one part of that path.
