Tis the season to celebrate moms of all kind and this week we feature some of our favorite stories from and about mom here at Dune Jewelry.

” Trying to create something to make my mom smile for Mothers Day was dicey. Then I found your website and created a bangle featuring three sands, representing her journey. One sample was from Co Clare, Ireland, her name in honor of our ancestral immigration to the US. One sample was from Humarock Beach, Marshfield, MA where she summered as a young girl with her parents and her own grandparents. The third sample was from Old Silver Beach, Falmouth, MA where she and dad made memories with me and my brother when we were younger. She was speechless. Her friends adored it and Im fairly certain they are rushing to make ones for themselves. ”

” I thought it would be a unique gift that would be symbols of sentimental memories my mom has had throughout her life. These memories include ones in her childhood like when she and her family camped out on Galveston Island or the time when she and her aunt escaped from being eaten by a shark at Virginia Beach. There also are the newlywed memories from the honeymoon in Hawaii, a family trip seeing the white sands at Pensacola Beach or the time we climbed the Dunns River Falls in Jamaica. Then there are the thoughts of the future such as my mom’s heart for Scotland or her dream to live in the Cayman Islands. My mom loved her personally made bracelet. ”

“ My lifelong best friend Nicole and I both live near the coast, but on opposite sides of the country. We grew up in Ohio, but now she lives in L.A. and I live in Naples, FL. Although we have kept in touch all these years, we rarely see one another because we are both busy wives and mothers.  Recently my oldest daughter started college at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA, which is very near L.A. I made the trip out with her to get her settled in. While I was there I called Nicole and she immediately dropped everything to come pick me up and spend the day with me! We went to the pier in Malibu and had mimosas and brunch, then walked the beach for hours just talking and catching up. I love my best friend so much, and I’m so proud of her for going back to school in her 40s to get her degree in sociology!  Although that day was not February 13, we decided that it would be our Galentines Day, and that we would repeat it every time I come to Malibu to visit my daughter. ”
