“Hunting for Sea Glass with my mother is tied to my early beach combing days. We would hunt the rocky sands of New England searching for the soft white, green, and blue treasures washed ashore. Collecting Sea Glass has stayed with me throughout my life. Especially if I’m visiting the beach on a colder day when sunbathing isn’t an option, I’m searching for these jewels of the sea.” – Lauren

Double Wave Necklace handmade with Blue Sea Glass and Sand from Bermuda

Sea Glass is as intrinsic to beach life as sand and waves. Most people leave their beach days with pockets full of weathered glass found in the sand.

Over the years, our Wave Makers asked if we can use sea glass to create jewelry and gifts in our designs instead of beach sand. With some experimentation, we’ve added Blue, Green, Brown, and Mixed Color Sea Glass to our Sandbank with the option (as always) for you to send your own. I can’t get over the way these vibrant colors look in all of our designs – it’s a new addiction!

What are the best ways to style and create sea glass jewelry?

Here are some style-tips from the Sand Stylist herself:

  • The darker the sea glass, the more vibrant the jewelry. White and Light Blue Sea Glass tends to turn translucent in our process, however, the saturated greens and rich dark blues create a striking pop of color.
  • Let the Sea Glass take center stage! I’m loving the way the blue sea glass looks in our larger statement pieces, like the Teardrop Ripple Earrings.
  • Vibrant accents – Looking to add a pop of color in between your favorite beach sands? I love the way the Green Sea Glass pops in multi-bezel designs like the Endless Summer Vertical Bar Necklace.
