Our favorite spot in Michigan to vacation or spend a day off is right here in historic Fishtown! Our most popular elements for our Dune collection, are any combination of our local Sleeping Bear Dunes or Van’s Beach Sand and turquoise. These look especially great on the wave ornament. Apothecary Gift Shop – Holland, MI

We’re located in the beautiful Downtown Holland, Michigan. We are a 3rd generation family-owned gift shop. We’ve been in business for over 60 years, so we’ve seen and been through a lot of changes. We started out as a pharmacy with a soda fountain and over the years transitioned into a pharmacy with a gift shop, and now we’re just a large gift shop. “Apothecary” in our name is a tribute to our history. We joke that over the years we’ve carried just about everything. We strive to find unique products that our customers, whether locals or visitors, might not find other places. This is why Dune Jewelry fits so well into our selection!

You can’t beat our Lake Michigan beaches! Michigan has many great stops all along the shore with soft sandy beaches and beautiful fresh water. I might be a little biased, but Holland is my favorite town. We have a gorgeous downtown with many independent stores and restaurants all in 1 walkable area. During the summer we have a vibrant Farmer’s Market and free Street Performers every Thursday night. We even have snowmelt for the winter! Warm water runs under our streets and sidewalks throughout downtown, keeping our sidewalks, parking lots and streets dry and snow-free all winter long.

We’re all big fans of Dune Jewelry here at Apothecary Gift Shop. My current favorite is probably the Shoreline Necklace. I love how it showcases our Holland sand, and reminds me of the gorgeous sunsets over Lake Michigan. Our customers love all things Dune Jewelry! Anything that features our Holland sand is popular with the locals as well as people that come to visit. The beaded bracelets are especially popular. They’re comfortable to wear and can be easily stacked.

Nifty Things! – Traverse City, MI

We are located in beautiful Northern Michigan in this cute town called Traverse City. Our store is quite unique. I do lot of traveling and have never seen our collection of products in any other store. I see bits and pieces but not the whole thing! We carry everything from inspirational to sassy and snarky. We have something for everyone in our store. If you can’t find a gift for your friends in our store…..then you need to get some new friends!

My favorite spot in Michigan is probably Old Mission. Love to visit a winery or 3 on the peninsula. Also, a small drive to the west is Sleeping Bear Dunes, which are stunning. It never gets old watching a sunset from the dunes. And to the east of us is Torch Lake. You would think you were in the Caribbean; it is so beautiful. They have a huge sandbar on the south end of the lake where all the people park the day. We love the Teardrop Necklace and Earrings from the Boutique Collection to capture our summer memories. Our pieces have crushed natural turquoise and beach sand in them. We sell a little bit of everything in Dune! The stationary Wave Necklace always seems to be a really good seller for us.

Teysen’s Gift Shop – Mackinaw City, MI

Our store is located in Mackinaw City, Michigan. We are at the northernmost point of the lower peninsula of Michigan. We are a tourist destination open from May 1 – the end of October. Teysen’s Gifts is a third-generation family business celebrating 97 years in our 3,000-square-foot store. We carry a wide variety of items from local artists, Apparel, Jewelry, candles, Minnetonka Moccasins, Lazy One loungewear, and of course we make our own “Mackinaw Fudge” We truly have something for everyone who visits. People enjoy the feeling of our store and wide selection we provide. Dune Jewelry is a good fit for us.

My favorite spot to visit in Michigan? That is a good question, we have many lovely spots to visit. My first response is Grand Rapids because that is where my grandchildren live! Any place in northern Michigan is beautiful. Mackinaw City is beautiful that is why over a million people vacation here each year. I do enjoy going to Mackinac Island also for a quick getaway. Anywhere by the water is my “happy place”. My favorite Dune is the necklace or bangle bracelet with the state of Michigan in it. Because we are a tourist destination, our customers like the state of Michigan on items, and with the sand from the Straits of Mackinac it is perfect. We also like the heart-beaded bracelets with the sand from our area.
