Summer is here! Days are longer, weather is warmer and it’s my absolute favorite time of the year. This past weekend I took a road trip with the family down to the South Shore of Massachusetts. We drove about an hour and a half (due to major traffic) and ended up in Marshfield. This cute little town is filled with tons of fun loving beach peeps – from bikers to the beach elite, this place is diverse. A couple of well-known celebs have houses there including Steve Carell and Steven Tyler. I’m told that the locals don’t think twice when they bump in to either of these guys around town.
So first we drove down to Rexhame Beach which is gorgeous! It has beautiful grassy dunes and a classic dune fence running along the beach. This is the type of location where you can style your models in literally anything and the shots will be perfect. Mother nature takes care of all the details for you. The girls played awhile and after gathering some sand for the Sandbank we headed to Brant Rock.
Brant Rock is where we rented a house for the photo shoot next week. We ended up bumping in to the owner of the beach house Jack, who’s lived in Marshfield for 44 years and had plenty of colorful stories about how the town has evolved over the years. The house sits directly in front of a long jetty which will be great to shoot on – or even fish off of. Maybe one of our models will be up for it!
Send Sand Make Memories
We collected some sand (as always). Afterward Lyla repeatedly tortured Alexa by chasing her with a huge handful of slimy seaweed. We went to check out The Jetty in the middle of town. This place has a casual beach bar atmosphere, rustic and relaxed, with good food. We ordered the Mexican street corn which was insanely delicious. Then finished up with ice cream for the girls. Their parking lot was roped off and they had tables and live music set up. By 3:30pm it was starting to get packed and Eric and I both agreed we’d love to come back with friends to check out the nightlife soon.
The day went by quickly and the girls were exhausted on the ride home. We really had a terrific day!
