Design Spotlight | Charms that tell a Story - Dune Jewelry

Have you ever been in a foreign country, paying for items in foreign coin, and thought to yourself, “this coin is awesome! It would be really cool if I could wear it as a necklace or bracelet.” C’mon, you know you have! Well this is something I’ve felt numerous times in my life. Whether it was a seashell, a coin, a key, a trinket that my daughter made me or a bauble from my grandmother’s jewelry box. I’ve felt the urge to collect and adorn myself with meaningful items that speak to me. This basic human “want” and the fact that charm bracelets have been worn as long ago as 600 BC is why I believe they will be part of our wardrobes until the end of time.

The truth of the matter is I LOVE charms! I love how versatile they are. I love to get creative and add two, three, or sometimes FIVE to my favorite necklace chain or charm bracelet. Mixing metals and telling stories with your clothing and accessories is simply part of being human. We all have a bit of creativity flowing through our veins and charms are an easy-going way to express yourself, your style and share your journey.

That being said, Dune’s charm collection continues to grow each year and we have no plans of slowing down. Personally, I would say that my faves (right now) are the family flip flop – I wear the Mama with St. Thomas sand, the Papa with sand from York, Maine and the two babies to represent Lyla and Alexa. I also love the wave which represents so many parts of my life as well as the Sunnies from the Voyager Collection because they’re just ADORABLE!
