Charity & Partnerships

Dune Jewelry is dedicated to making the world around us a better place for all. Whether it is helping to preserve the coastal communities which inspired Dune, or using our unique designs to support someone in need, we are always looking for ways to help. Since day one we have partnered with some amazing organizations, each bringing something as unique as the memories we help preserve. Please take some time to learn more about them and how you can help!

Dune Jewelry's Sister company, Beachsand Snowflakes was created in 2003 by Cape Cod artist and one of Holly's life long friends, Kellie Quinn. While building sandcastles with her children, she grew curious about the concept of sand as an art medium. In working & playing with the noticeably distinct grains of sand, the image of a snowflake was clear... such as grains of sand, no two snowflakes are alike. The concept of snowflakes made from beach sand was appealing in its simplicity - an ornament that could be displayed during the winter to bring thoughts of days at the beach.

Through a great deal of trial & error, she created a unique binding agent to hold the sand along with a setting procedure to harden it. A process was eventually developed that allows each snowflake to appear as seamless and delicate as the sand itself, yet capable of maintaining its integrity over time. The result was a truly original piece of art in every ornament.  Made with sand from your favorite beaches, each snowflake is unique in both color & texture, displaying natural variations in the grains of sand from its beach of origin.

One of the Lost Boys of Sudan, Gabriel Bol Deng, a 2007 Le Moyne College Alum, is Founder and Executive Director of HOPE for Ariang Foundation. Under Gabriel’s leadership, the people of Ariang hand made more than 300,000 bricks to build the primary school for their children.

Civil war in South Sudan forced Gabriel to flee Ariang, losing both his mother and father at the age of 10. While at a refugee camp in Ethiopia, he learned English by writing on cardboard with charcoal. It was in the camps that Gabriel realized the importance of reading and writing. This inspired him to establish HOPE for Ariang to provide an opportunity for boys and girls of Ariang to receive quality education. Educating the children of Ariang is key to achieving lasting peace and sustainable development in South Sudan. We hope when you wear this small piece of Ariang School you will be reminded of the students who are learning because of your generous contribution.

In 2004 and 2007, following their historic World Series wins, Red Sox owners, management and players, along with representatives of Massachusetts General Hospital visited Walter Reed Medical Center and met hospitalized veterans of the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Red Sox organization was deeply moved by the visit, and sought to make a deeper, sustained commitment to serve our returning veterans and their families. With guidance from their colleagues at Massachusetts General Hospital, the Department of Defense, the US Department of Veterans Affairs, Senator Edward M. Kennedy and others, the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program was created.

The Home Base Program provides clinical care and support services to Iraq and Afghanistan service members, veterans and their families throughout New England, who are affected by deployment– or combat–related stress or traumatic brain injury (TBI). They offer clinical and community education about the “invisible wounds of war,” and the challenges of military families. Also, they conduct research to improve treatment and understanding of Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD) and TBI. Strives to be a model partnership of academic medicine and Major League Baseball in service to our military veterans—and their families.

At The Artisan Group® we are on a mission to introduce Hollywood to the best of the handcrafted movement. We do it by providing owners of artisan businesses the chance to introduce their products to celebrities, industry leaders and members of the press through participation in celebrity gift lounges such as those leading up to The Academy Awards*, The Golden Globes* and The Primetime Emmys*. Because The Artisan Group takes a collaborative approach to participation in these lounges, a marketing opportunity that would be prohibitively expensive for most small companies becomes surprisingly affordable.
