Questions about Sands + Earth Elements:

HOW DO I ADD AN ITEM TO MY BAG?

Most of our designs are hand-crafted to order, so you need to select a sand or earth element for your design. Simply click “Select Element” on the product page, then you can either use the search bar to find an element in our Sandbank or let us know you’ll be sending your own! Once you select an element, you can add the product to your cart. 

CAN I SEND IN MY OWN SAND OR ELEMENT?

YES! We love receiving Sand + Elements from your travels and experiences. We work with everything from Beach Sand, Shells, Flowers, Ashes & more. Please see the SEND YOUR SAND page for an awesome instructional video and more information!

WHAT IS AN EARTH ELEMENT?

As the exclusive Experiential Jewelry® Company, Dune Jewelry uses more than beach sand to capture your memories. Our earth elements include (but are not limited to); dried flower petals, crushed granite, tree bark, brick, soil, crushed shells, and more. DOES DUNE AUTHENTICATE THE SANDBANK AND ELEMENTS?

YES! Each sand and element in Dune Jewelry’s Sandbank™ has been collected by our community - customers and retailers - for capturing special, specific, “experiential” memories in custom Dune Jewelry. This genuine and personal collection of Sand + Elements helps to authenticate each of the Sands + Elements in our Sandbank™. We also apply a strict fact-checking process to each submission that includes environmental and cultural factors specific to certain regions. Any questionable sand or element is not introduced to the Sandbank™. We invite and encourage customers to send/share their “sand stories” - along with pictures and videos of their sand-collecting experiences. Please adhere to all local laws and regulations when collecting and shipping any sand or element.

WHO COLLECTS ALL OF YOUR SAND + EARTH ELEMENTS?

All of our Sand + Earth Elements are collected ethically by people like you! Since 2010, our customers have sent in their own sand and earth elements from their vacations, travels, weddings, honeymoons, and more to capture their personal experiences. There is often an excess of sand or earth elements left over that we authenticate and add to our Sandbank. To give you an idea: a cup of elements can make over 1,000 designs!

MY SAND LOOKS A LITTLE BIT DARKER, WHAT’S THE DEAL?

Dune’s ‘sand & silver’ process uses specific resins to incorporate your sand into our jewelry. Because of this process, certain sands will appear slightly darker than the day they were collected, as if they were wet.

ARE THERE ANY SANDS THAT DUNE DOESN’T OR WON’T USE?

We understand that there are certain cultural and environmental issues around sand collecting and we will do everything we can to ensure these are respected. If you believe a sand listed in our Sandbank should not be offered publicly, please contact us immediately.

HOW QUICKLY WILL I RECEIVE MY ORDER?

Each jewelry item is handmade-to-order; all orders ship from Dune within 10 Business Days (not including weekends) of the date you ordered. If you are sending your own Sand + Element, your order will ship within 10 Business Days of the receipt of your element. A RUSH order processing is available for a $30 charge and guarantees it shipped within 5 business days.

WHAT IS RUSH PRODUCTION?

RUSH Processing allows your order to flow through our studio more quickly. We will handmake & ship out your order in 4 business days instead of the standard 7. RUSH is available to select at check out for an additional $30. PLEASE NOTE - RUSH Production does not include upgraded shipping. If you need your order by a certain date you may have to also select an upgraded shipping method.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RUSH PRODUCTION AND EXPEDITED SHIPPING?

RUSH Production ensures your order is hand-crafted in our studio in 5 Business Days for a flat fee of $30. Expedited Shipping is how fast the mail carrier delivers your order to you. We offer USPS and UPS Shipping and we ship from our Studio located in Boston, MA. Expedited Shipping costs are calculated at check out.

I JUST SUBMITTED AN ORDER. CAN I CHANGE IT?

If you would like to change an order, please contact us immediately at 617-364-1065 and/or email us at [email protected]. Any changes requested after 2 business days may not be able to be accommodated.

WHEN I PLACED MY ORDER, I SEE TWO ORDER NUMBERS, WHY IS THAT?

If you placed an order and one of the Items is out of stock, a separate backorder is automatically created. Items that are in stock will ship in 10 business days. Back Ordered Items will ship in 10 business once the item is back in stock.

HOW CAN I PAY FOR MY ORDER AT DUNEJEWELRY.COM?

Dune Jewelry accepts most major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, as well as PayPal. Afterpay is conveniently available to break your payment up into 4 easy payments. Customers that have received an e-gift card can also redeem them at the time of checkout.

I JUST SUBMITTED MY ORDER. WHEN WILL MY CREDIT CARD BE CHARGED?

Credit cards are authorized for payment at the time of check out, then charged in varied quickness - from most, immediately, but no longer than 24 hours.

DOES DUNE OFFER GIFT WRAP?

YES! Every item is packaged in a signature Dune Jewelry box with a card stating where your Sand + Element is from, along with care and handling instructions. Dune offers specialized gift wrapping that includes a personalized note card option.

WHY CAN’T I USE A DISCOUNT CODE WITH MY REWARDS POINTS?

We’re a small, handcrafted-to-order business. Because we employ talented artisans in our Boston Studio to handcraft your order, we can only allow one discount per order. Don’t worry, your points do not expire!

Questions about Shipments:

DOES DUNE SHIP TO PO BOXES?

Dune Jewelry does ship via USPS to USPS-certified domestic and international PO Box addresses.

DOES DUNE OFFER SATURDAY DELIVERY?

Dune Jewelry ships standard via USPS. If you need Saturday delivery; USPS and UPS ON-Saturday delivery options can be specifically pre-arranged by calling our Customer Service after you place your order; additional costs may apply. This feature is not available in all areas.

DOES DUNE JEWELRY SHIP OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES?

Absolutely! When shipping internationally, customs fees may be incurred. It is important to understand that if duties and taxes are assessed on an item mailed via the Postal Service, they are collected from the recipient upon delivery. Postage is charged in advance to cover the expense of delivery only. Postage does not cover charges assessed by customs in the destination country.

All items entering a foreign country are subject to customs inspection and assessment of duties, taxes, and fees in accordance with that country's national laws. Customs duties and taxes are assessed, generally, if the item sent is dutiable and if the value of the item is above the threshold set by the country's laws. Each country assesses unique formulae for customs, duties, and taxes. Check the World's Customs Organization website for general information, or visit the website of that country's customs service.

WHAT DOES YOUR LIFETIME WARRANTY COVER?

We love it when you wear your Dune, therefore if anything goes wrong with your jewelry, we will happily fix or replace it at no additional cost. This excludes apparel, non-jewelry accessories, or free gifts (with purchase) and shipping fees may apply.

WHAT IS YOUR HAPPINESS GURANATEE?

If you receive a Dune item that you are not in love with, we will replace it or issue a merchandise credit within 3 months of receipt.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY JEWELRY REQUIRES CLEANING?

CAN I VISIT THE DUNE STUDIO?

While we do offer Curbside Pick-Up, our studio is currently closed to the public. If you would like to see Dune in person you can visit one of our RETAILERS or the Dune Boutique located at 566 Route 28, Harwich Port, MA.

DOES DUNE JEWELRY ACCEPT DONATION REQUESTS?
