Sand from Harbour Island’s Pink Sands Beach in the Bahamas

True to its name, the sand collected from the Bahamas’ Pink Sands Beach is a gorgeous, other-worldly shade of pink. This beach’s sand gets its beautiful hue from tiny pieces of coral and shell washed up from the coral reefs surrounding the beach. Volcanic rocks from Antarctica’s Ross Island

Ross Island is a unique and majestic place; formed from four volcanoes, this tiny island just off the coast of Antarctica is almost always completely covered by ice and snow. Underneath this ice sheet, however, lies a layer of dark bluish-gray volcanic rock.
